Being a Colorado resident for most of my life, I am happy to say that I have
spent many days exploring numerous terrains of that wonderful state. If you
have never been to Colorado, by all means make it your next travel
destination; you won't be disappointed.
I visit my Mom who lives near Grand Junction as often as I can. It is a long trip
from Albuquerque, but always worth it. Along the way I usually stop at Little
Molas Lake and do some hiking. I am always stirred when I see the Colorado
Trail sign high on the ridge above the lake. The sign causes me to think about
the happy times of freedom and adventure my days on the AT provided. On my
last outing I decided there would be nothing I would like better than to just
keep walking to Durango. In fact, why not hike the entire trail in the next few
years. Thus a dream was born.
